Coffee is the main export of Nicaragua and it represents an entire social and economic system that involves much of the Nicaraguan population. We invite you to learn the entire process and all the social aspects that lie behind a great cup of coffee, from the plantation to your table.
First we will visit a farm where you can participate in the harvesting, pulping, washing, and fermentation of coffee. In the afternoon we'll take you to the dry mill, where the industrial part of the process happens, including a cupping session in the lab.
Behind each cup of coffee lies much work and ancestral knowledge, many investors, multiple processes, technology, grief, crises — plus a lot of culture and tradition.
