Peñas Blancas is the southern boundary of the Bosawas Biosphere Reserve. This is a walk in the jungle, with adventurous trails, giant trees, abundant water, impressive landscapes and all the magic of the tropical cloud forest, ideal for hikers and nature lovers.
Day 1: The amazing Arcoiris waterfall
After driving to the nature reserve, we will start a three hour hike through thick vegetation where you can enjoy abundant water sources, the charming sanctuary of the giant trees and the impressive waterfall Arcoiris with its more than 90 meters high.
Overnight at Eco – hostel in Peñas Blancas
Day 2: The most adventurer trail of Nicaragua
Early in the morning after enjoying a delicious typical Nicaraguan breakfast we prepare for an intense hike to the top of the reserve. We will walk for 5 – 6 hours, in the core area, where the virgin forest offers an incredible variety of flora and fauna and is the home of the Resplendent Quetzal and giant tree ferns.
After lunch we return to Matagalpa where the tour ends.
