Day 1 Managua
Arrival at the international airport in Managua and transfer to your nearby hotel.
Day 2 The highlands
Explore the beautiful city of Matagalpa and spend the night in a nice eco-lodge located in the countryside of Matagalpa.
Day 3 La Sombra Ecolodge & waterfalls
Shaded grown coffee, forest and a diverse plantation, give a fun opportunity for hikes. Birds and other wildlife are possible on your hikes around the area. On the way to La Sombra you will also visit Cascada Santa Emilia, where it is also possible to refresh yourself.
Day 4 Neblina del Bosque
Take a beautiful ride through the highlands and stay at a cabin up in the cloud forest. You will also visit a cooperative of talented women making gorgeous black pottery
Day 5 Hotel Los Arcos
Learn about the background and process of the worldwide quality cigars grown in Nicaragua. Visit a leather workshop where they make the most fancy leather boots and saddles of the country.
Day 6 Hotel Cacique Adiact
Witness breathtaking views through a tour of the Tisey reserve. You will also visit an incredible mural which is the result of the work for more than 40 years of carving rocks by hermit and talented man “Don Alberto”
On your way to León, visit the boiling mudpools of San Jacinto, a real proof of the active volcanic activity in Nicaragua.
Day 7 León
Explore this gorgeous colonial city, its interesting museums, old buildings, and of course the top roof of the cathedral. This province is full of awesome alternatives such as hiking active volcanoes, descend one of them by sliding on a board, visit a mangrove forest, or just relax by the beach.
Day 8 Granada
On our way to the outstanding city of Granada, we will visit the active Masaya volcano, the largest handicraft market in the country and some local artisans working with clay.
Day 9 Granada
Kayak around the islets near Granada which are the result of the last eruption of the Mombacho volcano.
Day 10-11 Ometepe Island
Ometepe has multiple natural attractions. On these two days you can tour around the island visiting places to relax and swim, historical sites such as museums and a gorgeous place where to witness the sunset and a lovely view of the San Cristobal active volcano. If you are looking for a tough challenge, you can hike one of the two peaks of the volcanoes.
Day 12-13 San Juan del Sur
San Juan del Sur's beautiful location give the option to a large varieties of activities such as swimming, fishing, snorkeling, turtle observation and others.
Day 14 Back home
Transfer back to the airport in Managua
