Description

This two-week expedition dives deep into Nicaragua’s volcanic landscapes and forested highlands. Begin in the colonial beauty of Granada and paddle through its lake islets before heading to the lush and lesser-known region of Peñas Blancas, where you’ll hike through waterfalls, interact with local farming communities, and sleep under the stars.

In the north, Estelí welcomes you with highland charm, lakeside kayaking, and a canyon adventure in Somoto. Then it’s off to León for classic volcano experiences—from sandboarding Cerro Negro to camping at El Hoyo and descending into the crater lake of Asososca. Wrap up your trip on the peaceful island of Ometepe, where twin volcanoes and river kayaking offer the perfect finale.
